Food Assistance

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are available to individuals and families who can prove economic need. The amount of monthly assistance will vary based on household size, income, and other factors.

Cash Assistance

Families or assistance groups that include small children may be eligible for a time-limited income supplement. Depending upon the situation, recipients may be required to do a work activity in exchange for this benefit.

Medical Assistance

Basic Medicaid health care coverage is available to individuals and families whose income is at or below 138% of the poverty level. Other verifications beyond income will be needed. Our office also handles eligibility for Aged, Blind or Disabled Medicaid, Nursing Home Medicaid and Waiver coverage for those requiring in-home services. Medicaid recipients may also be eligible for Non-Emergency Transportation to get to and from doctor appointments and pick up prescriptions.

Child Care Assistance

Eligible families can receive Public-Funded Child Care at a star-rated child care center near home or work.

Emergency Aid for Needy Families

The Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC) program helps families overcome immediate barriers to self-sufficiency. Benefits and services are for unemployed and low-income employed families or individuals in need of non-recurrent, short-term, crisis-oriented benefits to help during a crisis. To apply for PRC assistance, contact the Miami Valley Community Action Partnership at MiamiValleyCap.org or by calling 937-341-5000, extension 198.
